The third phase of dialysis centre with another 10 dialysis machines was inaugurated on 2019. Now the unit provides free dialysis to 50 patients in three shifts.
The dream of starting Dialysis unit to cater to the poor patients materialized with the District collector taking the 1st step forward with his innovative fund. The ShihabThangal Relief Cell sponsored the building. Further Rotary Club of Cochin Global erected the RO Plant and supported the first 5000 Dialysis. NRHM donated the 16 BBraun machines and Hon’bleM PCharles Dias, Dr. Husain also donated one machine each. Zakkath Foundation also donated three machines. With all this support we provided free Dialysis to 60 patients in the first unit and we have completed 8500free dialysis till now. Since the dialysis to the 120 patients undergoing dialysis at our Centre now.
Since the beneficiaries of dialysis unit of General Hospital Ernakulam are extremely poor BPL patients who find it difficult to afford the heavy expense charged at private dialysis units the free dialysis offered at our Centre is big relief to them. This was only possible because of the service from Rotary in our initial phase.
Dialysis Centre is run exclusively with the aid of sponsors. With the help of Rotary and V Guard we are able to provide free Dialysis to poor patients.Since we do not have any support to give free dialysis now we request you to sponsor further dialysis at our centre so that we can continue to provide free dialysis to our patients. Hoping your support towards this noble venture.
